6G Exhibit: A Connected Future

What will 6G mean for the digital world of tomorrow? The Barkhausen Institute is exploring this question and makes research tangible with an interactive exhibit that also functions as a browser-based web application.

What is 6G?

Expected to be available from 2030, 6G is the next generation of mobile communications. It will enable the ultra-fast, energy-efficient transmission of large volumes of data across billions of connected devices. Applications such as autonomous driving and real-time telemedicine will become a reality.

Shaping the 6G Experience

The touch application was originally designed as an interactive exhibition station for Mensch, Roboter! (Humans, Robots!), which was hosted at COSMOS in Dresden, and was also implemented as a web offering in parallel. This enables users to explore the content from home. At its heart is a playfully designed low-poly world in which key questions about tomorrow’s mobile communications can be explored: What is 6G? What challenges and opportunities does this technology present?

The Web3D application translates scientific content into an interactive, accessible story world. Rather than technical jargon, users can expect vivid scenarios, clear facts and an immersive experience.

From Data to Discovery

intolight was responsible for the web application’s overall concept, design language and technical implementation. Based on a clear narrative structure, we created an interactive format that makes scientific topics visually accessible and intuitively tangible. The result is an engaging vision of the future that transforms abstract research into a source of inspiration and sparks curiosity.
